Details Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-07:30) Level III/IV NICU caring for neonates from 23-24 weeks gestation and up 77-bed unit with an average census of 50 Typical patient ratio of 1:2 Attends high-risk deliveries and neonatal surgeries Utilizes CPAP/BiPAP, high frequency vents, oscillators, and standard ventilators (no ECMO) Performs blood/blood product administration, cardioversion/defibrillation, cooling/warming blanket therapy, feeding tube management, and PICC/central line care Uses syringe pumps and manages therapeutic hypothermia and respiratory ventilator support Epic EMR experience preferred Dedicated Admit Nurse typically handles admissions, so travelers rarely admit babies Rare floating, but may float to Issaquah or Edmonds SCN or to Pediatrics/NBN caring for newborns only Block scheduling available upon request, allowing 3 or more consecutive shifts Requirements Active WA or compact RN license required, must be in hand at submission Minimum 3 years of Level III NICU experience, or 2 years of Level IV NICU experience Current BLS and NRP certifications required Skilled in IV therapy, blood/blood product administration, and central/implanted line care Experience with gastrointestinal feedings (bottle, breast, gavage) and placement/management of oral/nasogastric/nasojejunal tubes Proficient in neonatal medication administration, emergency medications, and neonatal dosage calculations Experience caring for neonates across gestational ranges from 34 weeks Two supervisory references covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting Additional Information Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) All RTO and specific scheduling requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer requests may not be accommodated Previous Providence-affiliated permanent employees must be separated from the health system for a minimum of 3 months to qualify Returning employees/travelers must not reside within 50 miles of the facility they are submitting to Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius to be eligible for the travel pay rate; local candidates may be accepted at a lower bill rate Travelers are expected to float between sister facilities within the region, and refusal to float may impact assignment continuation American Traveler Job ID P-741518.
