The mission of the Fleet Management Department is to provide the City of Houston with the best value, fleet management services. To accomplish Fleet's mission and our vision of being recognized as the best managed fleet in the country, we are actively seeking a Customer Service Representative I. The Customer Service Representative I is a Tier I position and can make an immediate impact and add value towards the achievement of these goals.

The duties of the Customer Service Representative I include but are not limited to:

• Order, receive, stock, distribute, and complete inventory of surplus property for internal & external customers.
• Transport automotive parts to internal and external customers.
• Research, analyze, and resolve standard customer problems & inquiries by various forms of communication i.e. phone, email, in person, etc.
• Assist in the operation of "Just In Time" warehouse storage areas, receiving areas, or inventory controls and material management facility.
• Performs other duties as needed.

This is a General Services Department Position at the Tier I level.

The position is physically comfortable most of the time with occasional periods of stooping, bending and/or light lifting of materials of up to 50 pounds. There are occasional minor discomforts from exposure to less-than-optimal temperature and air conditions. General office conditions. May require long periods of standing and walking.

Minimum educational requirements: Requires a high school diploma or a GED.

Minimum experience requirements: Six months of administrative or customer service related experience is required. Substitution: An Associate's degree may be substituted for the experience requirement.

Minimum license requirements: Must have a valid Texas driver's license and comply with the City of Houston's policy on driving (AP 2-2).

Preference will be given to candidates with previous AUTOMOTIVE PARTS EXPERIENCE and sourcing agriculture parts for John Deere, New Holland, Toro, Kubota and Alamo in a retail or maintenance environment. Knowledge of Microsoft programs and M5 experience is a plus. Candidates able to work independently and possess excellent interpersonal, communication & computer skills are also desired.

Selection/skills tests required: None. However, the department may administer a skills assessment review. Safety impact position: YES. Yes, this position is subject to random drug testing and if a promotional position, candidate must pass an assignment drug test.

Salary information: Factors used in determining the salary offered include the candidate's qualifications as well as the pay rates of other employees in this classification. The minimum to midpoint of this salary range is: Salary Range - Pay Grade 13.
