Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough initial mental health evaluations and document comprehensive case histories for all clients.

• Design and implement individualized, culturally-sensitive treatment plans based on clinical assessments and evidenced-based practices.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, employing various therapeutic modalities to cater to client needs.

• Regularly monitor and evaluate client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to optimize outcomes.

• Collaborate with other healthcare providers, including psychiatrists, physicians, nurses, and social workers, to manage referrals and coordinate comprehensive care.

• Engage in active follow-up with clients entering inpatient care, ensuring continuity of care during hospital stays.

• Support family members and primary caregivers by offering consultation and strategies to manage mental health challenges.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in New Jersey.

• A valid passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to engage clients in a respectful and supportive manner.

• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, such as AVATAR, to document client interactions and treatment plans.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience as a mental health counselor, preferably in a community health setting.

• A background in dealing with co-occurring disorders, ensuring comprehensive care for clients with mental health and substance use challenges.

• Knowledge of the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) recommended practices and guidelines.

• A solid understanding of psychopharmacology and the implications of medications prescribed by other healthcare professionals.
