Facilities Technician

Entry-Level Facilities and Production TechnicianThis entry-level role combines hands-on facilities maintenance with general production support in a manufacturing environment. You will perform basic repairs, assist with equipment cleaning and operation, support workplace and safety initiatives, and help keep the production floor supplied and running smoothly. The position is ideal for someone with mechanical aptitude and experience using hand tools who is eager to learn and grow.ResponsibilitiesPerform basic building repairs, including doors, hinges, hardware, and similar facility components.Replace light bulbs and assist with routine lighting-related maintenance throughout the facility.Respond to, update, and complete maintenance tickets using the company’s maintenance management system.Provide basic facilities support for conference rooms, including meeting setups, supplies, and general workplace needs.Assist the EHS team with facility projects, safety-related support, and minor improvement work.Use hand tools, power tools, and basic measurement instruments safely and correctly.Identify and report visible facility issues, follow established procedures, and escalate concerns when needed.Work independently or under close supervision while remaining flexible as priorities and tasks change.Follow all company policies, training requirements, and safety guidelines at all times.Load tooling into a sand blasting machine to clean components, remove parts once blasted, and scrape remaining edges as needed.Supply the production floor with necessary items such as gloves, PPE, and small materials.Assist with cleaning machines and general machine operation as directed.Perform general labor tasks including material handling, assembly, and support of production equipment.Support manufacturing operations involving braiding, soldering, and use of manufacturing equipment, as trained.Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment if trained and authorized.Adhere to good manufacturing practices (GMP) and maintain a clean, organized work area.Perform heavy lifting and other physical tasks required to support production and facilities activities.Essential Skills12 years of experience in facilities maintenance, apartment maintenance, property maintenance, handyman work, manufacturing, or similar hands-on roles.Basic experience using hand tools and power tools in environments such as construction, handyman work, or manufacturing.Ability to use common measurement instruments accurately.Comfort working in a factory or industrial manufacturing environment.Ability to perform basic calculations and learn simple assembly or repair tasks.Basic computer proficiency, including email and Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Clear verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work across teams.Self-motivated approach, strong willingness to learn, and ability to follow direction.Capability to perform general labor, machine operation, and material handling tasks.Ability to perform heavy lifting and repetitive physical movements such as pulling, pushing, grabbing, bending, stooping, and kneeling.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience working with production equipment and manufacturing machinery.Familiarity with machine operating and basic machine maintenance.Exposure to soldering, braiding, or similar manufacturing processes.Experience with forklift operation and other material handling equipment, if previously trained.Understanding of good manufacturing practices (GMP).Comfort supplying and organizing PPE and small materials for a production floor.Entry-level mechanical aptitude with a willingness to be trained on specific tools and processes.Why Work Here?You will join a company that actively invests in its people and supports internal growth for those who demonstrate initiative. On the production floor, you will wear goggles, earplugs, and other appropriate PPE. The role involves occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds and frequent physical activities such as pulling, pushing, grabbing, bending, stooping, and kneeling. You must be able to stand for an entire 8-hour shift and clearly view, interpret, and process information related to your department. Extended use of a computer monitor during normal working hours is required for tasks such as updating maintenance tickets and communicating with team members. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Redwood City, CA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr.
