About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Outpatient Surgery Duration: 12 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 9 hours (08:30 - 18:00) Experience: Minimum 1 year License: RN License required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS Must-Have: Need an RN to work in Outpatient Surgery in PreOp, PostOp, and PACU. Familiarity with various surgical specialties is essential. Must be willing to start IVs and be familiar with conscious sedation, general, and local anesthesia. Description: Varied shifts may include 6-3:30, 6:30-4, 8-5:30, and 8:30-6. The RN must be prepared to handle multiple cases and work with various patient demographics from pediatrics to geriatrics. The specialties include retina surgery, total hip and knee replacements, hand surgery, breast oncology, breast reconstruction, ENT, laparoscopic cholecystectomy, hernia repairs, and podiatry. The patient ratio is approximately 1:4 with an average daily census of 10-18. The RN should have experience with specific procedures and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. The unit utilizes Epic and Pyxis systems for charting and medication management. The position does not require call; however, the RN may need to stay over based on the number of procedure rooms completed at the end of the shift. A maximum of 7 days of request time off is permitted. If a major holiday falls within the assignment period, the RN is expected to work it. Full compliance is necessary to begin the assignment. All onboarding requirements must be completed in a timely manner.
