Fabrication Designer

POSITION SUMMARYThe Fabrication Designer position focuses on Fabrication Deliverables and Processes within our Prefabrication Group. A successful Designer will create fabrication documents and details, using AutoCAD, Revit, and Excel, to support our fabrication crews. The preferred applicant will have a strong work ethic and a desire to learn and grow in their career. The Designer will report to a Prefabrication Operations Assistant Manager.RESPONSIBILITIESCreate project specific, fabrication details, drawings and other supporting documents using AutoCAD, Revit, and ExcelAssist in the development and implementation of design standardsEnsure proper dimensions of layout of equipment, devices, and other components through careful reading of specs or construction and engineering plansCommunicate technical aspects of a project with other disciplines in the prefabrication departmentRead and interpret construction drawings and documentsSupport the broader team in evaluation of new technologies to increase design efficiencyQUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree or an Associate’s degree with minimum of 2 years' experienceDemonstrated ability to effectively use Microsoft Office, AutoCAD and RevitGeneral knowledge of construction/fabrication principles, processes, and plansDemonstrated ability to effectively use Microsoft Office productsSolid interpersonal skills and desire to work in a team environmentAbility to work in a fast-paced environment as a self-starter with a strong work ethicUnderstanding of Lean Manufacturing principles is preferredDemonstrate behaviors consistent with McCarthy core values: Genuine, We Not I, All InMcCarthy is proud to be an equal opportunity employer, including disability and protected veteran status.
