Occupational Therapist

Occupational Therapist Profession: Therapy/Rehabilitation Specialty: Acute Care Hospital Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum of 1 year in Acute Care Hospital License: IN state license required Certifications: BLS, NBCOT, Manual Therapy, Lymphedema preferred Must-Have: - Cerner experience preferred - Experience in managing high acuity ICU/PCU Description: This position requires Monday to Friday work with one weekend day per month throughout the contract. The Occupational Therapist will work within an inpatient acute care rehab team. Expect to see patients across all levels of acuity from ICU to progressive care units. Diagnoses may include CABG and other cardiac procedures, stroke, TBI, joint replacements, fracture repairs, respiratory illnesses, dementia, multiple sclerosis, and Parkinson's disease. The therapist is expected to evaluate, develop, and follow a plan of care that includes ADL training, therapeutic exercises, and activities to improve function. Assess the appropriateness of discharge disposition recommendations on a daily basis. Supervise and guide Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants in their plans of care. Work collaboratively with the team to manage daily caseloads and attend multidisciplinary rounds. Complete documentation daily as part of the treatment process. Floating within the hospital or to nearby affiliates is required.
