Executive Vice President/CEO

Serves as Chief Executive Officer of the Association and provides strategic, operational and administrative leadership in support of the goals and policies established by the Board of Directors. Plans, organizes, directs and coordinates staff, programs and activities; recommends policies and initiatives; executes Board decisions; and maintains effective internal and external relationships to advance the Association. The Home Builders Association of Raleigh-Wake County (the “HBA”) is a member-driven trade association representing the residential construction industry in one of the fastest-growing and most dynamic regions in the country. Our members include home builders, developers, remodelers, suppliers, trade contractors, financial institutions, professional service firms and others whose businesses support housing and residential development. The HBA exists to strengthen the home building industry, create opportunities for our members, advocate for sound housing and development policies, and support the communities in which our members live and work. While our roots are in residential construction, the HBA’s reach extends well beyond the job site. We are an advocate, a convener, a business network, an event producer, a workforce-development partner and a respected community organization. Advises the Board of Directors, Executive Committee and Officers regarding Association conditions and operations; attends meetings and prepares agendas, packets, minutes and reports. Plans and recommends policies, programs and initiatives that further Association objectives and executes decisions of the Board of Directors. Directs Association operations, approved programs, projects and major staff activities; recruits, hires, trains, motivates and evaluates staff. Develops the annual budget with the Treasurer and Director of Finance; operates within established guidelines and safeguards Association funds, investments, physical assets and property. Leads legislative, regulatory and political efforts; maintains relationships with elected officials, government agencies and public/private organizations affecting the building industry. Serves as liaison to NCHBA and NAHB; represents the Association at key state and national meetings, legislative conferences and the NAHB Association Management Conference. Promotes member engagement; provides staff support to councils and committees; oversees member education and supports leadership development, nominations and Hall of Fame activities. Provides executive oversight and staff support for Association events, the Home Club campaign and other approved initiatives.
