MH2 Distribution Center Worker – Forklift

Petmate/Doskocil Mfg., Inc was founded in 1960 as an innovative manufacturer and supplier of crates and kennels used by the airline industry to transport pets. Over the years, the Company added individual consumers to its market strategy and expanded its product offerings, both domestically and internationally. Today, doing business as Petmate, the Company manufactures and distributes a wide range of pet products under the Petmate brand and on a Private Label basis, including:

The Company is headquartered in Arlington, Texas, in the heart of the Dallas/Ft. Worth 'Metroplex'. The Corporate Headquarters is located within walking distance to the iconic AT&T Stadium, home of the 5-time Super Bowl Champion Dallas Cowboys, and The Ballpark in Arlington, home of the Texas Rangers baseball club. DFW Airport is also nearby. Our fulfillment center is located in Lancaster, Texas.

As a Distribution Center Worker (using Power Equipment / Forklifts), you will be given the opportunity to create and provide excellent customer service within the fulfillment center. To be successful, the candidate must be able to "get things done" and effectively perform warehousing and fulfillment activities including order pulling, stocking, truck loading/unloading with manual equipment, receiving, cycle counting, packing or shipping. The employee is expected to perform these tasks at posted standards for the Fulfillment Center, for productivity for each function and to perform the task with a high degree of accuracy and quality.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for effectively performing warehouse and fulfillment activities and also be able to operate at least one piece of equipment such as an electric pallet jack/rider jack or stand-up forklift in at least one of the following areas:

• Order pulling
• Stocking/Putaway/Replenishment
• Truck loading/unloading
• Picking & Packing

The employee is expected to perform these tasks at posted standards and to perform the task with a high degree of accuracy and quality. The Distribution Center Worker will be guided by the Company's Vision statement, policies and procedures.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Utilize the Company Vision statement as the primary guide for decision making. Support and encourage behavior that reflects the term "customer" refers to dealers, suppliers, and all company employees.
1. Work within Petmate's safety policies and safety programs in a uniform and consistent manner so that employee injuries and illnesses can be prevented and compliance with federal, state and local regulations can be achieved.
2. Follow proper lifting techniques including team lifting when items are too heavy for individual lifting.
1. Assist in maintaining a clean, organized facility through diligent housekeeping efforts. Employees are required to assist in keeping aisles open and free of trash as well as picking up after themselves.
1. Use computer and other devices provided in warehouse automation systems with care, report any unsafe or malice activities that could damage the automation or computer systems.
1. Equipment operation – Utilize only when properly trained. Depending on specific duties, employees will be required to train on and operate various types of material handling equipment.
1. Security - every employee is considered to be a member of the fulfillment center security team and as such has responsibility for the security and integrity of the premises, equipment, inventory, and company information.
1. Employees must be flexible in work hours available including overtime and be able to respond to varying workloads without prior notice. Report to work every day, on time, as scheduled.

QUALIFICATIONS

Mandatory Requirements

• Highly customer focused
• Demonstrated good judgment, professionalism and the ability to maintain confidentiality
• Well organized with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to use an RF device/computer
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 6 months of electric pallet jack or stand-up forklift experience

Preferred Requirements

• Oracle WMS experience
• 6 months to 1 year of experience in a distribution center

WORKING CONDITIONS

Works in a distribution center environment. The noise level is usually moderate to loud, depending on the level of activity in the distribution center. The environment is not climate controlled and can be hot/cold depending on the time of year.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The physical demands include, but are not limited to sitting, standing, walking, communicating, seeing, hearing, use of hands, and lifting. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, but not on a consistent basis.
