Job Summary: Provide compassionate, patient- and family-centered respiratory care within a supportive environment that upholds professional respiratory therapy standards and fosters relationship-based care. Deliver care guided by ethical codes, state practice acts, and evidence-based protocols. Demonstrate expertise in respiratory assessments, treatment modalities, life support certifications, critical thinking, and prioritization. Commit to ongoing professional development and educational growth.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Assessment: Conduct thorough age-specific assessments and reassessments. Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare teams to gather comprehensive medical histories. Document findings in accordance with unit policies.
- Diagnosis: Identify physical, psychosocial, cultural, safety, infection control, environmental, and educational needs. Prioritize care based on assessments and prepare tailored patient and family education.
- Planning/Outcome: Work with healthcare providers to develop and revise individualized care and discharge plans that align with best practice standards and patient needs.
- Implementation: Deliver age-appropriate care using evidence-based interventions. Coordinate with community resources and healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive care delivery.
- Evaluation: Continuously assess the effectiveness of respiratory interventions and patient responses. Adjust care plans accordingly and evaluate educational outcomes for patients and families.
Education and Experience:
- Graduate of a CoARC-accredited respiratory therapy program.
- Associate Degree or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
Licensure and Certifications:
- Obtain Registered Respiratory Therapist credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care within one year of hire and maintain active status.
- Hold an active Respiratory Care Provider license from the state health professions bureau.
Work Shift: Night shift from 6:00pm to 6:30am, part-time (24 hours weekly).
This position is located in a regional healthcare setting within the Midwest United States.
