Job Summary: Provide compassionate, patient- and family-centered nursing care in a supportive environment that emphasizes best practices and exceptional customer service. This role fosters relationship-based care and upholds professional nursing standards guided by the ANA Code of Ethics, regional Nurse Practice Acts, and regulatory requirements. The acute care setting includes medical, surgical, emergency, intensive care, pediatric, and perioperative units.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Effectively manage time and resources, prioritizing critical tasks while balancing short- and long-term needs.
• Apply clinical expertise to assign patient care based on acuity and technical requirements.
• Engage in ongoing education to implement evidence-based practices and promote cost-effective care.
• Deliver excellent patient and visitor relations, demonstrating respect, integrity, collaboration, empathy, and professionalism.
• Communicate clearly with patients, families, and healthcare teams to manage expectations and enhance the patient experience.
• Maintain a therapeutic environment by minimizing noise and supporting healthcare students and programs.
• Prioritize safety for patients, guests, and staff by adhering to national safety standards, HIPAA, and Just Culture principles.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, peer review, and shared leadership opportunities.
• Foster teamwork through coaching, mentoring, and collaborative feedback.

Education and Experience:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program or equivalent experience with at least five years in acute care.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred or required within five years of hire; enrollment in advanced degree programs accepted.
• Completion and maintenance of area-specific certifications such as ACLS, BLS, PALS, or specialty credentials.

Licensure:

Active Registered Nurse license as required by the regional nursing board.

Work Schedule:

Part-time, third shift (7 PM to 7:30 AM), 48 hours biweekly with every third weekend rotation.

This position is located in a regional healthcare facility serving the Midwest area of the United States.
