Job Summary: Provide compassionate, patient- and family-centered nursing care in a supportive environment that exemplifies best practices and outstanding customer service. This role fosters relationship-based care and upholds professional nursing standards guided by the ANA Code of Ethics, Nursing Process, and regulatory agency standards. Acute care departments include Medical Units, Surgery Units, Emergency Departments, Intensive Care Units, Childbirth Centers, Pediatric Units, Operating Rooms, Perianesthesia, Endoscopy/GI, and Cardiac Cath Labs.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Effectively manage time and resources, prioritizing critical tasks while balancing short- and long-term goals.
• Apply new knowledge from ongoing education to promote cost-saving and enhance patient care.
• Make patient care assignments based on nurse expertise, patient acuity, and technical needs.
• Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills with patients, visitors, physicians, and colleagues, embodying core values such as respect, integrity, collaboration, empathy, and courage.
• Communicate clearly to manage expectations and provide timely responses to patient needs.
• Maintain a therapeutic environment by minimizing noise and supporting healthcare students and their programs.
• Prioritize patient and workplace safety by adhering to Just Culture principles, HIPAA, and national safety standards.
• Engage in professional growth through certifications, advanced degrees, and leadership opportunities.
• Foster teamwork by motivating and guiding colleagues, encouraging cooperation, and providing mentorship.

Education and Experience:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school or, if unaccredited, a minimum of five years acute care nursing experience.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred or required within five years of hire; enrollment in an accelerated MSN program is acceptable.
• Area-specific certifications such as ACLS, BLS, PALS, or specialty certifications to be obtained and maintained upon hire.

Licensure and Certifications:

• Current active Registered Nurse license as required by the state nursing board.

Work Shift: Third shift, full-time (36 hours weekly).

This position is located in a regional healthcare facility serving the Midwest area of the United States.
