Job Summary: Provide compassionate, patient- and family-centered nursing care in a setting that exemplifies best practices and outstanding customer service. This role fosters relationship-based care and upholds professional nursing standards guided by the ANA Code of Ethics, Nursing Process, and regulatory agency requirements. Acute care departments include Medical, Surgery, Emergency, ICU, Childbirth, Pediatric, Operating Room, Perianesthesia, Endoscopy/GI, and Cardiac Cath Lab.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Effectively manage time and resources, prioritizing critical tasks while balancing short- and long-term goals.
• Apply new knowledge and skills from ongoing education to improve patient care and promote cost-saving practices.
• Make patient care assignments based on nurse expertise, patient acuity, and technical needs.
• Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills with patients, visitors, physicians, and colleagues, embodying core values such as respect, integrity, collaboration, empathy, and courage.
• Communicate clearly to manage expectations and provide timely responses to patient needs, ensuring a positive experience.
• Maintain a therapeutic environment by minimizing noise, using electronic devices appropriately, and supporting healthcare students.
• Prioritize safety for patients, guests, staff, and self by adhering to Just Culture principles, HIPAA, and national safety standards.
• Engage in professional growth through leadership opportunities, certifications, advanced degrees, and shared governance.

Education and Experience:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program or, if unaccredited, a minimum of five years acute care nursing experience.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred or required within five years of hire; enrollment in accelerated MSN programs accepted.
• Area-specific certifications such as ACLS, BLS, PALS, or specialty certifications required and maintained.

Licensure:

Current active Registered Nurse license as required by the state nursing board.

Work Environment:

Full-time day shift position in a regional healthcare facility serving the Midwest United States.
