Job Summary: Provide compassionate, patient- and family-centered nursing care within a supportive environment that champions best practices and exceptional customer service. Nursing care is guided by the ANA Code of Ethics, relevant state nursing practice acts, the nursing process, and regulatory standards.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Fiscal Responsibility: Efficiently utilize resources and supplies to promote cost savings. Manage time effectively by delegating tasks and scheduling proactively based on patient acuity and census. Engage in ongoing education to support cost-effective practices.
• Quality: Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives, including meaningful use and nurse-sensitive indicators. Demonstrate critical thinking, multitasking, and thorough documentation in line with unit and hospital standards. Apply evidence-based practices and make patient care assignments based on expertise and patient needs.
• Community Service and Patient Satisfaction: Positively represent the healthcare facility in community events. Actively contribute to patient satisfaction through rounding, timely responses, service recovery, and professionalism. Foster a therapeutic environment and support healthcare students.
• Patient Safety: Incorporate safe patient care practices such as fall prevention, safe mobilization, medication administration, and patient identification. Report near misses and engage in proactive error reduction. Adhere to Just Culture principles, HIPAA, national safety standards, and social media policies.
• Professional Growth: Demonstrate leadership through charge nurse responsibilities, mentoring, and precepting. Maintain licensure and pursue certifications, advanced degrees, and leadership opportunities. Stay current with practice standards and track professional development.
• Customer Service: Deliver care based on relationship-based and unit nursing care models, embracing holistic approaches for diverse populations. Uphold customer service standards, address ethical concerns, and foster positive relationships with patients, visitors, and colleagues.

Education and Experience Required:

• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing is required; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
• Proficiency with computer systems is necessary.
• At least three years of recent critical care nursing experience is required.

Mandatory Licensure/Certifications:

• Current active Registered Nurse licensure by the appropriate state board.
• Area-specific certifications such as ACLS, BLS, PALS, or specialty certifications must be obtained upon hire and maintained.

Work shifts are varied and scheduled weekly.

This position is located in a regional healthcare setting within the Midwest United States.
