Human Resources GeneralistThe Human Resources Generalist provides support in all areas of the Human Resources department. The selected candidate assumes ownership for the successful and compliant execution of the Employee Life Cycle.Key DeliverablesDevelop onboarding plans to educate new hires on HR policies, internal procedures, and regulationsRecruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicantsProvide support for employment related inquiresMonitor employee morale and company cultureMonitor and implement applicable federal and state requirements to ensure legal complianceKey Activities & ResponsibilitiesPerform benefits administration to include the process of onboarding, annual open enrollment, assist in employee claims, resolve discrepancies with employees, payroll and/or benefits provider and communicate benefit information to employeesCoordinate the hiring process, including but not limited to, conducting pre-employment background, drug screening and reference checks, and issuing job confirmation letters and other internal communicationsWork collaboratively with department managers and executive leadership to develop and implement specific employee programs, policies, processes, and systemsConduct new hire orientation and provide new employees with a positive first impression of the organization, core values and organizational cultureHandle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staffMaintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain complianceRecruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openingsMaintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment lawMaintain confidential employee information such as personal data, compensation, benefits, tax data, attendance, performance reviews or evaluations, termination date and reason in various locations including the HRIS, and Excel. Partners with payroll for smooth transactions between HR and payroll systemsActively support the company's core values, mission statement and vision statement.Assume other special activities and responsibilities as directedDesired Qualifications & CompetenciesBachelor's degree in HR, business, or a related fieldAssociate's degree with related experience considered3 - 5 years of Human resources experience preferredSHRM certification preferredHR experience with FMLA, recruiting and HCM/HR systems preferredKnowledge of laws and regulations governing Human Resource functionsKnowledge/understanding of benefit administrationAbility to communicate effectively and reach a diverse, multigenerational workforceStrong analytical and problem-solving skills coupled with the ability to change tasks as neededAbility to communicate to get desired resultsExcellent data entry/proofreading skillsAbility to exercise a high level of independent judgement on a customary and regular basisSchedule: Monday-Friday 12:00 PM-8:30 PMStarting Pay: $30-33/hour
