Responsibilities The Medical Laboratory Scientist is responsible for performing complex laboratory tests on patient specimens to aid in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. The role requires precision, analytical thinking, and a strong understanding of laboratory science and technology. Duties include conducting diagnostic testing on blood, tissue, and other bodily fluids; operating and maintaining laboratory equipment; analyzing test results and reporting findings to physicians and other healthcare providers; ensuring quality control and compliance with safety protocols; maintaining accurate patient records and laboratory documentation; and collaborating with healthcare professionals to interpret results and support patient care. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field. Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and computer skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Familiarity with laboratory safety standards and procedures Certification Certification from recognized bodies such as MLS/H/C/BB ASCP (American Society for Clinical Pathology) or AMT (American Medical Technologists) within 18 months of hire.
