Make a meaningful difference by supporting a 6th-grade student through a remote special education teaching assignment designed for a homebound learner. This contract role allows you to leverage your expertise in special education while providing individualized instruction in a flexible, virtual format.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education
- Proven experience working with students who have diverse learning needs, ideally in a remote setting
- Ability to design, implement, and adapt individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Strong communication skills for working with students, families, and educational teams
- Proficiency with online learning platforms and technology integration for remote teaching
- Compassion, patience, and flexibility in addressing varied academic and social-emotional needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide daily remote instruction and support aligned to the student’s IEP goals
- Develop engaging, accessible lesson plans tailored to a 6th-grade curriculum
- Regularly assess and document student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
- Collaborate with parents/guardians and other educational professionals to ensure a holistic approach
- Maintain thorough records and comply with all reporting requirements
- Foster a positive, inclusive remote learning environment that empowers the student to achieve personal and academic growth
