Job Description

Step into a fulfilling role supporting student growth as a Special Education Teacher for a 6th-grade homebound learner. This contract opportunity calls for a compassionate educator who excels at delivering remote instruction, specifically within individualized education settings.

Your skills and expertise will directly impact a student’s academic journey, allowing you to craft lessons that accommodate unique learning needs from a virtual environment. Working with a homebound student, you'll build strong connections with the learner and family, ensuring consistent support and measurable progress.

Desired Qualifications:

Valid Special Education Teaching certification
Experience with virtual or remote teaching tools
Familiarity with middle school curriculum, especially grade 6
Strong skills in developing, implementing, and adjusting IEPs
Ability to motivate and engage students remotely
Excellent communication skills with parents and school staff
Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive learning atmosphere

Role Responsibilities:

Provide individualized virtual instruction aligned with IEP goals
Regularly track and report the student’s academic and behavioral progress
Adapt lesson plans based on ongoing assessment and feedback
Collaborate with other educators, service providers, and families for holistic student support
Maintain accurate records and documentation as required
Attend online IEP meetings or conferences as needed
