Job Title: Relay Field Operations Support Engineer I - Sr.PS Job Title: Engineer, Sr (Trans)Work Place Flexibility: Onsite Legal Entity: Entergy Services, LLC JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE:Performs a wide variety of planning, maintenance, design engineering, project management and construction, andoperationsactivities related to routine, non-routine, and emergency restoration duties. Project areas may includegrid/system design, operationsand maintenance, planning, asset management, reliability, computer applications,safety, and root cause failure analysis.JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:Performs a wide variety of detailed engineering analysis in transmission-related areas such as planning,maintenance, design,project management and construction, and operations.Uses engineering/technical principles, best practices, and knowledge of internal and external business issues tosolve problems,develop cost-effective, technically sound solutions, and improve products or services.Applies knowledge of engineering principles in evaluating alternatives, making decisions, andinterpreting/employing applicableelectrical codes, procedures, standards, processes, and policies.Supports activities to comply with applicable industry standards (i.e., NERC, SERC) and other utility regulations, asrequired.Works with other disciplines within the Transmission organization and other company business units to achievestated goals.Assist with storm/emergency restoration efforts as necessary.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Minimum Education:Bachelor's degree in engineering Discipline (typically Electrical or Computer Engineering) from a four-yearaccredited institution.Degrees in engineering technology (typically Electrical or Computer Engineering) from a four-year accreditedinstitution with PE maybe considered.Preferred: Electrical Engineering DegreeMinimum Experience:Engineer I: 0 - 2 years of experience in an engineering disciplineEngineer II: 2 - 4 years of experience in an engineering disciplineEngineer III: 4 - 6 years of experience in an engineering disciplineEngineer Sr.: 6 + years of experience in an engineering disciplinePreferred: at least 2 years of experience in an engineering disciplineMinimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Demonstrated ability to apply engineering principles.Thorough understanding of procedures, programs, and standards in responsible area.Good leadership skills.Good interpersonal skills along with strong written and oral communication skills.Excellent math skills.Excellent project management skills.Good knowledge of Personal Computer operations and related software.Ability to manage multiple activities and changing priorities.Ability to work well under pressure.Required to work safely and follow all Entergy safety policies and procedures.Ability to recognize hazards in the workplace and have the ability to mitigate the hazards.Ability to recognize opportunities for process improvement and have the ability to enact change.Preferred Skills and Abilities:Proficiency in Short Circuit fault analysis and Relay Protection and ControlsStrong technical knowledge in designing protection schemes and relay settings for transmission anddistribution assets.Any Certificates, Licenses, etc.Preferred: PE, FEPrimary Location: Louisiana-New Orleans Louisiana : New Orleans || Mississippi : Jackson Job Function: EngineeringFLSA Status: Professional Relocation Option: No Relocation OfferedUnion description/code: NON BARGAINING UNIT Number of Openings: 1Req ID: 124026 PS Job Title: Engineer, Sr (Trans) Travel Percentage:Up to 25%An Equal Opportunity Employer, Minority/Female/Disability/Vets.
