The Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) is an organization of approximately 2,000 personnel of which 700 serve at HQ and the remaining staff serve at offices worldwide. NCIS is the DON component with primary responsibility for criminal investigation, law enforcement (LE), counter-terrorism (CT), counterintelligence (CI), and cyber matters. NCIS not only has primary responsibility for all criminal investigative, CI, CT, and cyber matters within the DON, but it also has exclusive investigative jurisdiction in non-combat matters involving actual, potential, or suspected criminal, terrorism, sabotage, espionage, and subversive activities. MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT As a Field Computer Specialist, you'll join our IT Technology Development division within the NCIS ITD organization at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, DC.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing technical advice and guidance on installation, adaptation, configuration, and/or enhancement of company technical products, programs, and systems.
• Providing IT support throughout area of responsibility
• Utilizing ServiceNow for change management, ticketing system and asset inventory
• Coordinating troubleshooting efforts for resolution of network outages
• Performing Trusted Agent functions for SIPR Token program
• Assisting users in the region with VTC system deployment and maintenance
• Supporting various admin duties, ex. Audits, inspections, create SOP, various data calls, training requirements, etc.
• Supporting NMCI by gathering requirements, ordering equipment, and coordinating with the Contract Technical Representative (CTR).
• Maintaining accurate inventory of IT assets, configuring equipment out-of-the-box, and supporting troubleshooting
• Helping diagnose and resolve computer-related problems as requested by employees and contractors, either in person or by using remote control software
• Responding to telephone calls and email requests for technical support
• Analyzing, troubleshooting, and resolving problems with business applications and hardware on all enclaves
• Performing general maintenance tasks and resolving fewer complex problems immediately, while more complex issues are communicated to a higher level of support
• Accurately documenting all work in appropriate problem-tracking software
• Regular visits are from once a month to quarterly, based on IT projects or critical outages: Bethesda, MD; Patuxent River, MD; Dahlgren, VA + Quantico, VA
• Outlying sites supported by the DCFO FCS: Hanover, MD + Annapolis, MD

What You'll Need To Succeed:

• Security Clearance Level: Active Top Secret clearance.
• Required Experience: 5+ years of experience with network administration and user support; experience in a military environment is a plus
• Experience with installation, operation, configuration, and maintenance of multiple types of business and end user-specific application software in a large government installation
• Familiarity with a variety of technical support applications, concepts, practices and procedures
• Required Certifications: Security+ CE and GSEC, SSCP or CCNA-Security.
• Education: AAS Degree or equivalent work experience.
• Location: Onsite at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, DC.
• US Citizenship required

The likely salary range for this position is $85,000 - $115,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
