Painter Job No: 559073 | Work Type: Staff | Location: Pomona Categories: Unit 6 - Teamsters Local 2010, Probationary, Full Time, Trades, On-site (work in-person at business location) Type of Appointment: Full Time, Probationary Job Classification: Painter Anticipated Hiring Range: $5,355 - $6,274 per month Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Patch drywall, tape, mud and apply texture. Surface scraping, sanding and filling in preparation for painting and refinishing. Apply undercoats, primer and finish coats with brush or roller. Mix and match paints and finishes. Work off a ladder. Clean and maintain brushes and other equipment. Paint simple signs. Advise on selection, ordering and storing of paint materials. Consult with other trades and customers. Maintain simple records and provide reports. Perform other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Valid driver’s license in the state. Thorough knowledge of painting trade methods, materials, tools, and equipment, including drywall and paper hanging. Knowledge of applicable state codes and regulations, including Safety Orders of the Division of Industrial Safety of California. Ability to apply paints and finishes neatly and accurately; mix and match colors; work from scaffolds, rigs, and ladders; read and interpret blueprints, plans, drawings, and specifications; estimate cost, time, and materials; maintain records; provide instruction to assistants; respond to emergency situations; read and write at a level appropriate to the position; perform required arithmetic calculations. Progressively responsible training and experience equivalent to a journey-level painter. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Computer maintenance management software, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Physical ability to lift, lower, push, and pull loads ranging from 5‑60 lbs; carry loads of 20‑50 lbs for distances up to 20 feet; kneel, reach overhead, climb stairs and ladders, walk, twist, stoop, and bend; work 20‑50% sitting, 20‑50% standing, 20‑50% walking during a typical day.
