Job Description
Our client is seeking a Sr. Civil/Structural Engineer based in sunny Atlanta-Midtown to provide engineering and design (repair designs, technical documents, calculations, field support, training and quality control) to support the company's utility clients. The client will train you in order to be successful.
Responsibilities
Perform calculations for structural steel and concrete restoration designs. Designs vary in complexity and include the reinforcing, restoration and support of transmission line towers and poles.
Provide field support and QA for transmission structure projects within the steel and concrete Corrosion Services team (inspections, engineering, repairs, cathodic protection, etc.).
Write reports and technical documents and interact with customers to support the Corrosion Services team.
Provide training, webinars and demos as required to support existing and potential field and customer training requirements relating to corrosion inspection and repair.
Assist in planning and prioritizing structural corrosion control and cathodic protection within project guidelines.
Support pilot projects for all business units by providing field support and writing reports..
Support R&D projects by participating in field work.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
BS Degree in engineering (civil or structural) and about 3-4 years of experience
Willingness to travel on occasion (less than 20%)
Preferred Qualifications:
EIT a plus
Willingness to pursue additional training such as NACE Basic Corrosion, NACE Level I CIP, NACE Level I CP
