Make an impact in the lives of students by providing critical support and advocacy in a dynamic, urban school environment. This full-time contract opportunity offers two openings for experienced social workers eager to partner with diverse student populations across elementary and middle school settings. You'll work onsite, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, helping students navigate academic, social, and emotional challenges to foster their overall success.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Master of Social Work (MSW) license in Pennsylvania
- Significant school-based experience required
- Must meet PA Dept of Education requirements: either hold a valid, active PA School Social Worker Educational Specialist certificate or be an LSW/LCSW enrolled in a PDE-approved social worker program
- Eligible for, or able to promptly obtain, all required PA clearances
- Comfort and capability working in an urban school setting
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and crisis intervention skills
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies for student support, working closely with teachers, families, and community resources
- Conduct individual and group counseling to address behavioral, emotional, and family issues that impact learning
- Respond to crises and provide urgent support as needed
- Create and maintain case records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with school district and state standards
- Contribute to a collaborative, positive school climate as a resource for staff and students
- Participate in professional development and ongoing training opportunities
This position runs through June 10, 2027, providing stability and the opportunity to build long-term relationships and make a lasting difference. Pay for this role is structured competitively for qualified professionals. Interviews will be conducted via Zoom for convenience and efficiency.
