Registered Nurse - Progressive Care Unit
This is a 13-week contract position.
Night shift: 3x12-Hour (18:00 - 16:30)
The Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) provides high-quality care to patients in a critical setting. The nurse is responsible for patient monitoring, administration of medications, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and assess patient conditions in a PCU setting with a patient ratio of 1:4.
- Manage care for diverse patient populations, including adults and geriatrics.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and monitor for effectiveness.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding health conditions.
- Maintain accurate patient records using the Epic charting system.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:
- Minimum of 2 years' nursing experience with previous charge experience.
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS.
- Current Registered Nurse license required; compact license must be in hand at submission.
- Experience with the Epic charting system is mandatory.
