Assistant Principal

Role Description The Assistant Principal at CAST Med High School is a full-time, on-site role based in the San Antonio, Texas Metropolitan Area. The Assistant Principal supports the campus principal in leading daily school operations, including supervising instructional programs, monitoring classroom instruction, and promoting high academic and behavioral expectations for all students. Responsibilities include coaching and providing feedback to teachers, observing lessons, and supporting the implementation of curriculum, assessment, and dual-language and medical pathway programs. The role also includes managing student discipline processes, supporting positive school climate, coordinating communication with families, and collaborating with community and higher-education partners. The Assistant Principal participates in campus improvement planning, oversees assigned staff and campus activities, and helps ensure compliance with district policies and applicable regulations. Qualifications Demonstrated instructional leadership skills, including experience supporting teachers, analyzing student data, and implementing evidence-based practices. Experience in student support and campus culture, including restorative practices, behavior management, and fostering an inclusive, safe learning environment. Strong communication and collaboration skills for working effectively with students, families, staff, district leaders, and community and higher-education partners. Organizational and operational skills, including scheduling, campus supervision, coordination of programs, and attention to compliance and documentation. Experience or strong interest in healthcare, biomedical, STEM, or career and technical education pathways; familiarity with dual-language or bilingual programs is a plus. Ability to lead in a diverse, student-centered, and equity-focused school community, with a commitment to supporting all learners. Relevant teaching and campus leadership experience at the secondary level, preferably in an urban public school setting.
