This position consists of a Clerk Specialist supervised by the Educational Program Director in the Communications section of the Bureau of Exceptional Education and Student Services (BEESS). This position will work closely with the Communications section and the support staff from other sections. The person in this position is expected to perform highly responsible administrative work as related to the statutory regulations of the education profession in the State of Florida. This position requires excellent communication skills in dealing with the public, appointed commissioners, and members of both the legal and education professions. This is a great opportunity for someone highly organized, detail-oriented, and can communicate effectively.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assists in answering incoming calls to the Bureau of Exceptional Education and Student Services mainline, maintains current knowledge of equipment usage and assists in maintaining supplies.
• Assists with redaction and ensuring that electronic documents are compliant according to the Americans with Disabilities Act.
• Assists with tracking and filing papers and electronic documents.
• Coordinates communication and scheduling for required activities.
• Assists in reviewing requirements for the design of various publications, documents and forms using Microsoft Office Suite; Maintains and updates lists for the bureau.
• Researches and summarizes materials for professional staff for conferences and meetings; assists in setting up meeting rooms before presentations to include technical and conference call equipment; and Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• The applicant must currently be a student and able to provide class schedule on request.
• Ability to communicate effectively including verbal and written communication.
• Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with others.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel).
• Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.

This position requires an on-site schedule of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Telework is not available for this role.
