Director of Community Investments, Missouri Collaborative Fund

This role will serve as Director of Community Investments for a statewide collaborative fund, which is a fiscally-sponsored project of Community Capital Fund (CCF). 

This funder collaborative strengthens the capacity, connections, and sustainability of organizations and leaders in Missouri that are building power in their communities. We provide both strategic gifts and resources to organizations to build their capacity for non-partisan community organizing, power-building, and base-building across Missouri. We also invest in rest and wellness initiatives to sustain leaders and teams. 

ABOUT THE ROLE 

The selected candidate will assume Director of Community Investments role in August 2026 with onboarding alongside the current Project Director, and assume full responsibility of the role by October 2026. This is a Community Capital Fund staff position. CCF serves as fiscal sponsor for the fund, and holds signatory and HR authority for the collaborative. 

This role has the potential to expand to manage a similar but distinct collaborative fund, with similar duties and responsibilities as those outlined here. 

The scope of this role spans four interconnected areas of work, described below. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

1. Facilitation and Convening: Facilitate partner meetings, work group sessions, and collaborative convenings, and hold the through-line between those sessions, tending to the relationships and dynamics that make the formal work possible. 

2. Navigating a Multi-Partner Collaborative: Navigate the complexity of a collaborative that spans multiple organizations, perspectives, and funding relationships, bringing people together without flattening differences, illuminating ideas without co-opting them, and advancing the work without rushing the trust required to sustain it.

3. Administrative and Operational Management: Carry significant administrative and operational responsibility, including contact management, budget management, grant administration, document systems, correspondence with vendors and funded partners, and meeting preparation, executed with the same care and intentionality as the relational dimensions of the role. 

4. External Representation: Serve as a face and voice of the collaborative to external stakeholders, exercising sound judgment and discretion and communicating with warmth and professionalism across varied audiences. Future external activities, including potential expansion of funding relationships, will be determined by the strategic plans and priorities of the collaborative. 

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS 

1. Experience facilitating in-person and virtual meetings or convenings involving multiple organizations, funders, or stakeholders with differing perspectives. 

2. Strong administrative and project management skills, including contact and document management, correspondence, and meeting preparation. 

3. Strategic and visionary thinker, able to hold the long-term direction of the collaborative while managing the day-to-day work of implementation and tactical activities. 

4. Experience supporting evaluation and learning processes, including gathering and synthesizing feedback to inform a collaborative's ongoing strategy and direction. 

5. Demonstrated commitment to justice and equity, with the values alignment to represent the collaborative's mission and priorities authentically. 

6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the discernment and judgment to represent a collaborative externally. 

7. 5+ years of experience working with or alongside power-building organizations, intermediaries, or philanthropy is a plus. 

8. Familiarity with the Missouri community and civic engagement landscape is a plus. 

COMPENSATION 

This is a full-time exempt Community Capital Fund position. Base salary for this role is expected to range from $100,000 to $115,000 annually, determined based on experience and qualifications, and will be shared with candidates who advance in the process. Compensation also includes 100% employer-paid full health benefits for employees, 3% retirement contribution, and paid time off. CCF also provides Summer Hours and a flexible, hybrid work environment. Candidates must be based in,or willing to relocate to, Missouri.
