Role Overview As a Histologist, you will be responsible for preparing and processing tissue specimens to support accurate diagnostic review. You will oversee all phases of tissue processing, maintain laboratory standards, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities Oversee all phases of tissue processing from fixation through final slide preparation Perform embedding, sectioning, staining, and special histology techniques Maintain laboratory files, records, and documentation required by regulatory agencies Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and instruments Monitor and restock laboratory supplies to support workflow needs Ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance across all histology processes Support timely preparation of specimens for diagnostic use Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications Education – Required High School Diploma or GED Education – Preferred Completion of a Histotechnology program or related technical training Associate's degree in a related field Experience Preferred: Laboratory-related experience Licensure / Certification Required: ASCP Certified Histotechnician (HT) Preferred: Additional ASCP certification Total Rewards & Benefits BayCare offers a competitive total rewards package, including: Flexible PRN scheduling Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance Paid Time Off (PTO) 401(k) Match + Annual Contributions Tuition Assistance Wellness resources & community perks BayCare is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
