Collection Specialist - Full Time

divh2Collections Specialist/h2pCataldo Ambulance Service is seeking an experienced Collections Specialist to join our current team! The Collection Specialist manages overdue accounts receivable by contacting customers, negotiating payment plans and documenting actions to recover outstanding debts. They are responsible for reconciling payment discrepancies, reducing delinquency, maintaining accurate account records, and ensuring compliance with regulations./ppstrongKey Responsibilities/strong/pulliResolve insurance related billing issues with patients and/or insurance carriers/liliServe as primary representative for patient inquiries/calls/liliContacting clients via phone, email, and mail regarding delinquent accounts to secure payment as required within a reasonable timeframe./liliPromptly and expeditiously responds to customer inquiries, resolving discrepancies, processing and reviewing account adjustments./liliManages accounts by reviewing and updating account statuses, identifying delinquencies and resolving billing disputes./liliMaintains documentation accurately with detailed records of all collection actions, communications and payments./liliPrepare ageing reports, processing payments and conducting skip tracing to assist in location services./liliProvides high level problem solving, to assist clients with identifying alternative payment options and payment plans./liliAdheres to legal standards and company policies regarding debt collection practices and processes./liliMaintains knowledge of government and commercial insurance and Credit Collections policies/liliProficient in the Identification of needs and requests rebills to insurance, utilizing available resources to obtain updated information and reissue correspondence./liliMaintains confidentiality of patient information while on the phone or in-person/liliConsistently maintains aged invoices utilizing various reports and the collection module using Zoll Rescue Net/liliClearly communicates potential problems and concerns that may affect collections in a timely and discrete manner./liliConsistently meets and maintains productivity goals and defined benchmarks on a weekly basis./liliAdditional projects and responsibilities as assigned and requested./liliMaintains knowledge of and complies with all company policies, procedures, and guidelines at all times./li/ulpstrongEducation Experience:/strong/pulliHigh school diploma or GED equivalent./lili3-5 years Accounts Receivable follow up experience/liliPrior experience with Ambulance/EMS/Medical billing preferred/liliPrevious Collections and Customer Service experience preferred/li/ulpstrongKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:/strong/pulliKnowledge of HIPPA and Healthcare standards/liliFamiliarity with Medicaid and Medicare Guidelines/liliWorking knowledge of Web based applications and Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word required/liliCommunicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions./liliAnalytical skills to gather and interpret data/liliAbility to exercise sound judgment and discretion at all times/liliStrong interpersonal skills/liliExcellent organization skills: attention to detail and follow-through/liliResolve issues quickly and efficiently/liliAble to multitask, take charge and ownership of tasks/liliAbility to work independently and in a team setting/liliHandle highly confidential information with complete discretion/liliAbility to work in a Fast paced, high demand environment/li/ulpstrongRequirements:/strong/pulliMust be minimum of 18 years of age/liliAbility to meet the essential duties and physical, mental and sensory requirements of the position at all times./liliComply with UDS drug screening at any and all times/liliCompletion and receipt of satisfactory background check and MA CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information), verification may be required annually./li/ulpThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met and maintained by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job./ppstrongPhysical, Mental and Sensory Requirements/strong/ppPrimarily requires high manual dexterity, near-acuity vision for screen work, and the ability to sit for extended periods (roughly 80% of the day) while handling, typing, and reaching for documents.
