Junior Contract Support SpecialistLocation: Remote (CONUS/50 U.S.)Reports to: Veterans AdministrationTravel Required: Remote work from anywhere in 50/U.S. The candidate must visit the local VA office to be processed through the VA security process.Description of Work:Provide comprehensive contract support for the Veterans Administration.Perform federal routine contracting tasks.Perform federal acquisition planning, preparation of solicitations, proposal analysis, and post-award activities to support less complex government acquisitions.Assist with the close-out of existing contracts as needed.Prepare portions of less complex contractual documents, reading and interpreting basic procurement regulations, policies, and directives to make recommendations to the contracting officer.Complete administrative duties as necessary.Other duties as assigned.Educational and Experience Requirements: The Junior Contract Support Specialist shall meet the following minimum academic and experience requirements:Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in a related field. Coursework must have included at least (24) semester hours in any combination of the following fields: Accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management.Federal Contracting Experience: At least two (2) years of federal contracting experience, preferably with experience with the eCMS and VISTA applications.Technology Requirements: Proficiency in programming software such as Google Suite/Drive and familiarity with various video-conferencing platforms. Working knowledge of FAR and VAAR-based procurements.Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:Ability to understand technical content and communicate well with subject matter experts.Ability to project and manage efficiently and balance shifting priorities.Knowledge and ability to perform a range of standard and technical assignments to meet time-critical tasks and resolve recurring problems.Capacity to work independently or as a contributing team member in a results-oriented environment; flexible and detail-oriented.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds and abilities.Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.Exceptional verbal, written communication, and presentation skills.Preferences (preferred but not required):Desired Attributes: Flexible, technologically proficient, innovative, punctual, and goal-oriented with an honest work ethic and a discerning ability to solve problems efficiently and effectively.This is an internal and external posting.
