Methodist Justice Ministry (MJM) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that advocates for the well-being of vulnerable families through free legal representation, compassionate support, and community partnerships that break cycles of abuse and build stable futures. For 20 years, MJM has helped survivors of family violence and child abuse find safety, stability, and hope through access to justice.

Position Summary

The Development Coordinator works closely with the Development Director to execute MJM’s fundraising, donor stewardship, communications, and marketing activities. This is a hands-on role responsible for keeping day-to-day development activities organized, timely, and engaging.

The Coordinator will primarily focus on cultivating and stewarding donors contributing $1,000 and below, while also providing administrative and communications support for broader fundraising efforts. The position is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, creating polished communications, coordinating details, and turning fundraising plans into action.

Responsibilities

Communications & Marketing

• • Support the Development Director in implementing MJM's communications and marketing strategies to ensure consistent messaging across all communication channels, including:
  • Social Media, website, newsletters, and print materials.
  • Media Relations: Help coordinate the drafting and distribution of media communications.
  • Storytelling: Meet with former clients to gather success stories for use in print, digital, and donor communications.

Donor Stewardship

• Draft and coordinate donor acknowledgment and stewardship communications, including thank-you calls, handwritten notes, emails, and letters for donations under $1,000.
• Coordinate special donor recognition efforts for new and monthly donors.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records in the CRM.
• Assist with the preparation and distribution of annual donor contribution statements.

Events & Community Engagement

• Assist with community engagement activities to help cultivate new donor relationships, including information tables at First United Methodist Church of Fort Worth during April, September, and October.
• Coordinate occasional donor events, receptions, and meetings.
• Support foundation visits, corporate meetings, and church presentations as needed.

Annual Campaigns

• With the guidance of the Development Director, plan and execute annual campaigns.
• Manage logistics for third-party fundraisers like corporate give-back events.

Development Operations

• Support grant research and preparation of foundation proposals and reports.
• Attend professional development opportunities related to fundraising best practices.
• Participate in organizational events and special projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Success Measures

• Donor acknowledgments are completed within established timelines.
• Monthly communications and marketing pieces are produced on schedule.
• Events are executed professionally and within budget.
• CRM records remain accurate, current, and complete.
• Growth in donor engagement through communications, events, and stewardship activities.

Required Qualifications

• • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, nonprofit management, public relations, business, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  • One to three years in nonprofit development, communications, marketing, donor relations, event planning, or a related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create compelling donor and marketing communications.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and common communications platforms, including Canva, social media management tools, and email marketing software.
  • Experience maintaining accurate records and managing data in a CRM or donor database (or the ability to learn new database systems quickly).
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively while exercising sound judgment, professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
  • Commitment to exceptional customer service and building positive relationships with donors, volunteers, clients, community partners, and colleagues.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and automobile insurance.
  • Ability to lift and transport up to 30 pounds of event and marketing materials, with assistance for heavier items.

Preferred Qualifications

• • Experience working in nonprofit fundraising or donor stewardship.
  • Experience with graphic design, website content management, photography, or digital marketing.
  • Knowledge of the North Texas philanthropic and nonprofit community.
  • Experience working with survivors of family violence or other vulnerable populations.

Schedule: Must be available to work on-site Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Attendance at occasional evening and weekend meetings, fundraising events, and community activities is required as part of the regular full-time work schedule (35–40 hours per week).

Compensation: Starting at $ 50,000- $ 70,000 annually, commensurate with relevant experience.
