Case Manager Generalist

VOALA (Volunteers of America) is a non‑profit human services organization serving the Los Angeles area. The organization provides Head Start programs, college prep, veteran services, homeless shelters, low‑income housing, and drug and alcohol rehabilitation. PAY RATE: $22.91 - $24.12 per hour BENEFITS: Competitive medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits. Job Summary And Purpose The Case Manager Generalist provides case management services to low‑acuity clients, coordinating services and care, and handling a caseload of individuals who need a wide variety of human services resources. Duties And Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive screenings and assessments with individuals or families to collect functional, environmental, psycho‑social, financial, employment, housing, educational, and health information. Assess barriers, develop case plans, coordinate individualized planning, and support clients to meet short‑and long‑term needs. Provide service linkages and support systems to ensure identified needs are met. Coordinate case conferences, consult with service teams, monitor progress of clients, and assist clients to meet agreed‑upon goals. Advocate for clients before judicial, community, and administrative bodies; facilitate support groups and client participation. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Services must be performed on‑site; incumbents must report each day of active employment. Conduct regular individual meetings, develop detailed action plans, set goals, and identify resources. Coach and provide social support, accompany participants to activities and services. Coordinate care and case management with the team and connect participants to appropriate services. Advocate for participants before other agencies and community settings. Motivate participant progress (capacity building). Engage participants, outreach, and bring them into programs. Perform other duties as required; duties may change. Mandated Reporter All employees are mandated reporters and must report any instance of physical or sexual abuse to proper authorities. Qualifications Requirements Pass a fingerprint clearance, background check, and verification of references, employment, and education. Ability to perform under emotional stress and with potentially aggressive clients. Education High School/ GED; completion of VOALA Case Management training within 6 months of hire. Experience Minimum 1 year general experience in case management or similar social services role, or a bachelor’s degree in Social Services or related field in lieu of experience. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree (Social Work, Social Services, public administration, public health, or related field). One year of experience working with the target population.
