Nursing Administration Leadership Role

Key Position Details:

• 0.7 FTE (56 hours per two-week pay period)
• 8 & 12-hour evening/night shifts
• Every 3rd weekend

Job Description:

Responsible for coordinating and facilitating patient care functions within the hospital. The individual in this role demonstrates advanced knowledge to manage the patient care operations in the absence of the Vice Presidents, Directors, and Department Managers. This leadership role includes responsibility for establishing meaningful communication systems, assuring effective resources management, and coordinating patient placement and care processes across multiple departments.

Principle Responsibilities

• Serves as the representative of hospital administration and management in their absence.
• Serves as resource and coach to hospital employees.
• Identifies issues which impact patient care throughout the hospital.
• Manages situations in a manner consistent with hospital policies and nursing practice standards.
• Allocates daily staffing resources.
• Facilitates patient placement.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Associate's or Vocational degree in Nursing
• 2+ years in an acute care setting with 1 year as charge nurse or similar role

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing
• 2+ years of management/leadership skills

Licenses/Certifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse MN Board of Nursing required if working in state of MN upon hire/WI Department of Safety & Professional Services required if working in the state of WI upon hire
• Mercy Hospital, Abbott Northwestern Hospital, St. Francis Regional Medical Center: Must meet at least ONE of the requirements below: BLS certification from the American Heart Association BLS certification from the American Red Cross Allina in-house BLS training (within 30 days of hire)
• All other locations: Must meet at least ONE of the requirements below Current ACLS certification from the American Heart Association Current ALS certification from the American Red Cross Allina in-house ACLS training (within 60 days)
• PALS is required within the first three months at Cambridge, Faribault, Owatonna, United Regina Campus, River Falls
• NRP/TNCC completed within the first year of employment at Cambridge, Faribault, Owatonna, United Regina Campus, River Falls

Physical Demands

• Medium Work*:
• Lifting weight up to 32 lbs. occasionally (*Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy), up to 25 lbs. frequently

Pay Range

Pay Range: $52.24 to $72.28 per hourThe pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
