Production Planner

Production Planner Textron Systems is part of Textron, a $14 billion multi‑industry company. This role is located in the Hunt Valley business area. Job Summary: A Production Planner will develop and manage the execution of the production schedule, accounting for available capacity, material availability, and program delivery commitments. The Planner communicates manufacturing status, expected completion dates, and production risk analysis to leadership and program managers. Responsibilities Partners with procurement, production manager, quality, engineering, program management, and other supply‑chain disciplines to proactively plan, schedule, and manage development, production, and aftermarket support environments. Manages and owns the execution of items associated with their planner code, including release of internal jobs to the factory, release of purchase requisitions, handling disruptions (shortages, MRB, constraints), and providing feedback to internal customers. Advises management on the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure personnel, equipment, materials, and services are available as needed. Monitors internal and external supply‑chain alignment—identifies and resolves potential constraints, maintains the line of balance (build‑through), and processes purchase requests for component or part procurement based on the master production schedule, shop load, and inventory requirements. Plays an integral part of Integrated Product Teams (IPT) by interfacing with internal customers. Assists management in developing and executing plans for assigned products to maximize on‑time completion. Analyzes supply and demand data and reports to determine critical‑path constraints. Manages manual demand for top‑down & bottom‑up releases, facilitates ECN/ECP changes, coordinates production cut‑ins, reviews excess material for consumption in other jobs, creates material transfers, borrow/payback transactions, and PO change requests. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of moderately related professional experience (preferred). 1‑3 years MRP experience and CPIM certification (preferred). Self‑starter with ability to work in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment. Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple priorities efficiently. Excellent communication, facilitation, networking, partnering, and team‑building skills. Outstanding analytical and problem‑solving skills. Proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook; prior MRP software experience. Experience with PowerPoint, MS Projects, EMatrix, Oracle ERP, PowerBI (preferred).
