Position Summary
The Service Supervisor supports front-end operations by providing leadership, direction, and support to customer service associates, cashiers, and service desk personnel. This position helps ensure exceptional customer service, efficient checkout operations, compliance with company policies, and achievement of operational goals. The Service Supervisor serves as a key resource for associates and customers while promoting a positive shopping experience.
Key Responsibilities Customer Service Operations

• Deliver and promote exceptional customer service throughout the store.
• Assist customers with questions, concerns, returns, exchanges, and special requests.
• Resolve customer issues professionally and efficiently.
• Monitor front-end service levels and respond to customer needs promptly.
• Support company customer satisfaction initiatives and service standards.

Front-End Operations

• Assist in overseeing daily front-end operations, including check stands, self-checkout, and service desk functions.
• Monitor cashier productivity, transaction accuracy, and service efficiency.
• Ensure adequate staffing coverage throughout operating hours.
• Assist with register accountability, cash handling procedures, and till audits.
• Support execution of company programs, promotions, and operational initiatives.

Leadership & Team Development

• Provide daily direction, coaching, and support to front-end associates.
• Assist with training and onboarding new employees.
• Promote a positive, respectful, and productive team environment.
• Reinforce company policies, procedures, and performance expectations.
• Assume leadership responsibilities in the absence of front-end management.

Compliance & Safety

• Ensure compliance with company cash handling, loss prevention, and operational procedures.
• Monitor adherence to safety policies and report potential hazards.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe checkout and customer service areas.
• Support regulatory compliance related to customer transactions and store operations.
• Assist with investigation and documentation of operational concerns when necessary.

Financial Performance

• Support achievement of labor, productivity, and service goals.
• Help identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
• Monitor front-end processes to reduce errors and improve customer throughput.
• Support efforts to minimize shortages and operational losses.
• Assist with accountability for front-end performance metrics.

Qualifications

• Previous retail, customer service, or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
• Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Basic computer, cash handling, and operational knowledge preferred.
• Ability to make sound decisions and exercise good judgment.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
• Ability to assist with lifting and moving products consistent with store requirements.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to work in varying store conditions.
