Position Overview

We are seeking qualified Registered Nurses (RNs) for a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). This position is full-time and features a rotating schedule with 12-hour night shifts from 19:00 to 07:30. Candidates will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, critical care environment.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients. Responsibilities include monitoring patient conditions, administering medications, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care. The Nurse will be expected to float to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and the Pediatric Emergency Department (PED ED) as necessary.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1.5 years of PICU nursing experience required.
• Current NM nursing license.
• Certifications required: BLS, PALS.
• Experience with CRRT, ECMO, and ventilation management preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple critical patients, including intubated patients when needed.

Shift Requirements

• Rotating shifts - flexibility to work night shifts is required.
• Weekend requirement: 5 weekend shifts per schedule for night shifts.
• Block scheduling is not guaranteed.

Patient Care Responsibilities

• Provide care for patients with conditions such as respiratory distress/failure, renal failure, trauma, and multi-system organ failure.
• Utilize advanced nursing skills including but not limited to:
  
  
  • Management of inotropic drips and ventilated patients.
  • Central line care, drainage management, and hemodynamic monitoring.
  • Support during intubation, lumbar punctures, and other critical procedures.

Facility Information

This facility is a Level I Trauma Center, focused on pediatric care and teaching, with a total of 554 staffed beds.

Special Requirements

• Experience in CRRT and ECMO is highly desirable.
• Traveler should be prepared to float to NICU as needed.
• Knowledge of pediatric dosage calculations is essential.
