Job OpportunityWe are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) settings. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional care to critically ill pediatric patients, managing complex medical needs, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.Shift DetailsShift Type: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)Ratios: 1:2Weekend Requirements: 5 weekend shifts are preferred per schedule, with Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights considered weekends.Contract Duration: Minimum of 10 weeks; no block schedules guaranteed.RequirementsExperience: Minimum of 1.5 years in PICU; first-time travelers are accepted.Certifications: BLS, PALS, and a valid New Mexico RN License.Special Skills: Familiarity with CRRT and ECMO procedures, ventilator management, and inotropic drips.Floating: Must be open to floating to the NICU and Peds ED for admitted patient assignments.Patient Care ResponsibilitiesThe RN will provide care for a variety of patient diagnoses, including but not limited to:Respiratory distress/failureRenal failureTrauma casesMulti-system organ failureSuicide attemptsUnit InformationThis facility is a Level I Trauma, Children's Hospital, and Teaching Hospital, with a total of 554 staffed beds. The unit serves neonates, infants, adolescents, and pediatric patients. The daily census averages around 15 patients, with 20 beds available in the unit.Additional InformationAll travelers are required to obtain a flu shot unless a medical or religious exemption is provided. Candidates should be prepared to handle two intubated patients when necessary, although this is not preferred. The facility does not accept local candidates within a 100-mile radius.Working EnvironmentThe hospital emphasizes interdisciplinary support, including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Social Services, and more.
