Supervisor Field Ops

Primary Purpose The Field Ops Supervisor is knowledgeable of yard and transportation operations and enjoys leading a team. This position is responsible for supervising operational functions and drivers. Essential Functions Manage and coordinate all activities for the yard; supervise all technicians. Work with the Operations Coordinator & Routers to coordinate routes, pick‑ups, and deliveries to ensure best routing efficiencies. Analyze and report on operational activities (routing efficiency, weekly pick‑ups versus deliveries, labor & overtime, fuel, customer service quality). Work directly with other departments to ensure excellent communication within the division and resolve customer service issues. Coordinate asset transfers with Operations Supervisors at other yards as needed. Maintain proper staffing levels to meet and exceed customer and branch needs. Assist Operations Manager with coordinating logistics for special events, including delivery & pick‑up and service of assets. Review all paperwork from drivers (manifests, P&D tickets, route sheets, DVIRs) for completion and accuracy. Review and approve Time Saver punches before payroll processing; review and approve time‑off request forms and schedule time‑off based on operational necessity. Manage fleet DOT administration (log books & record maintenance). Administer the company’s safety program for the driver function, coordinating safety training with Safety & HR. Lead employee development and conduct periodic performance reviews. Operate a variety of company vehicles. Perform other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities This position has supervisory responsibilities. Qualifications Minimum 2 years and an Associate’s Degree or equivalent education & experience. Minimum 2 years experience in a related field and/or training. Minimum 2 years proven leadership experience leading a diverse team to accomplish results. Strong customer service skills. Team building ability. Excellent organization. Strong communication. Decision making and problem solving. Valid driver license. Physical Requirements Sit while driving and stand while servicing products. Use hands and fingers to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls. Repeat the same movements. See details of objects that are less than a few feet away and at greater distance. Speak clearly to customers. Understand another person's speech. Hear sounds and recognize differences. Walk up to 30 minutes at a time without exertion. Enter and exit equipment by stepping and kneeling. Lift up to 40 pounds from your waist to your shoulders. Lift 30 pounds from the floor to your head. Crouch and squat. Push 100 pounds and pull 100 pounds horizontally. Sit while answering phones or replying to emails. Repeat the same movements when entering data at the computer. See details of objects that are less than a few feet away. Focus on one source of sound and ignore others. See differences between colors, shades and brightness.
