Job Title

Registered Nurse – Cardiac Telemetry (Travel / Seasonal | Night Shift)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Expected 48 hours/week | Full-Time Hours Required Including 3 Weekend Shifts Per Scheduling Period

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 29-bed Cardiac Telemetry unit with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Read and interpret EKGs and telemetry strips continuously throughout the shift
• Administer and titrate IV medications including insulin, Cardizem, Cardene, and Amiodarone
• Perform and assist with unit procedures including IV insertions, NGT placement and maintenance, chest tube maintenance, Foley insertions, and temporary pacemaker management
• Provide post-cardiac procedural care for patients following ablations, cardiac catheterizations, Post-Op Day 1 open heart surgery, and permanent pacemaker placements
• Align with patient experience standards by engaging patients respectfully, involving them in bedside shift report, and responding promptly to call lights

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in good standing
• Minimum 1 year of experience in Cardiac Telemetry, PCU, or ICU
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret EKGs and telemetry strips
• Experience with post-cardiac procedural care (ablations, cardiac catheterizations, open heart surgery, pacemaker placements)
• Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Proficiency with documentation in Meditech; experience with Alaris IV pumps and telemetry monitoring equipment preferred

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Familiarity with Meditech electronic health record system
• Experience using mobile team communication platforms in a clinical setting
• Background in fast-paced cardiac or critical care environments
• Comfort floating to other units where competency has been demonstrated
