About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Telemetry Profession: RN Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: RN License required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Cardiac Telemetry or PCU/ICU experience. - Ability to read and interpret EKGs and telemetry strips. - Experience with post-cardiac procedural care including Ablations, cardiac catheterizations, and Post Op Day 1 Open Heart. - Ability to administer and titrate IV medications such as insulin, Cardizem, Cardene, and Amiodarone. Description: This position provides care in a fast-paced telemetry unit. The unit has a total of 29 beds with a patient ratio of 1:4. Staffing includes a Charge Nurse, Unit Secretary, and Patient Care Technicians. Essential equipment includes Alaris IV Pumps, SCD machines, Hill Rom beds, and telemetry monitors. Documentation is conducted using an electronic system. Full-time hours are required, including three weekend shifts per scheduling period. Contract Nurses may be floated to areas where they have demonstrated competency. Align with patient experience goals by treating every patient with courtesy and respect. Engage with patients during bedside shift reports and ensure their needs are met before leaving the room. Must have experience with IV insertions, NGT placement and maintenance, and Foley insertions. Unit values a tenured and supportive staff atmosphere. The unit has received recognition for excellence in heart failure care through established guidelines.
