Step into a rewarding role supporting students’ growth and development as a contract occupational therapist in the vibrant borough of Brooklyn, NY. This position offers the unique opportunity to make a lasting impact in school-based and home-health settings, providing direct therapy services to children throughout the academic year. The schedule allows for professional flexibility, with hours typically ranging between 30-35 per week, depending on each school’s needs.

Your start date can be as soon as possible after clearance, with the assignment extending through June 28, 2027. While exact school locations and case loads may vary, you’ll generally work during standard school hours—most buildings fall within an 8:30am–2:30pm or 9:00am–3:00pm structure. Expect to deliver individualized occupational therapy to approximately 10-12 students daily, tailoring your interventions to support a wide range of needs and helping each child reach their fullest potential.

Qualifications and Experience Sought:

• Valid and current Occupational Therapy license for New York State
• Previous experience in school-based OT, home health OT, or both
• Strong skills in collaborating with educators, families, and other therapy professionals
• Flexibility and adaptability in dynamic school environments
• Passion for working with children and fostering a positive, inclusive atmosphere

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct OT services in school and/or home settings according to student IEPs
• Evaluate and develop individualized treatment plans
• Document progress and collaborate with school teams
• Communicate effectively with staff, parents, and administrators
• Participate in regular team meetings and professional development as needed
