Hydro Test TechnicianLocation: Stafford, TX (100% Onsite) Duration: 3 Months Contract Pay range: $18.00 to $20.00 per hour on W2The Hydro Test Technician is responsible for performing hydrostatic pressure testing on pressure relief valve components, and applicable engineering specifications. The position ensures all pressure-containing components meet design and safety requirements through accurate testing, inspection, documentation, and handling of tested components.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Perform hydrostatic pressure tests on parts, subassemblies, and assemblies according to approved procedures and engineering requirements.Identify components requiring hydro testing through SAP using Hydro Indicator and Design Pressure fields.Calculate and verify required hydrostatic test pressures based on design pressure specifications and applicable procedures.Set up and operate hydrostatic testing equipment, gauges, fixtures, and related tooling.Verify test equipment and gauges meet required accuracy standards before testing.Monitor test pressure and hold times to ensure compliance with established standards and procedures.Inspect components during and after testing for leaks, defects, or nonconformances.Reject and report components exhibiting visible leakage or failure during testing.Mark accepted components with required identification markings following successful completion of testing.Dry and preserve tested components to prevent corrosion or damage following testing activities.Maintain accurate testing records and documentation as required by quality management systems and customer specifications.Follow all quality, safety, environmental, and continuous improvement initiatives.Communicate test results, discrepancies, and equipment concerns to Hydro Lead.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Ability to read and interpret engineering specifications, work instructions, and technical procedures.Knowledge of hydrostatic pressure testing methods and equipment.Familiarity with pressure relief valves, valve components, and pressure-containing equipment.Ability to understand pressure calculations and testing requirements.Experience using precision gauges and measuring devices.Working knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems.Strong attention to detail and quality standards.Ability to identify nonconforming products and document findings accurately.Basic computer and data entry skills.Strong organizational and communication skills.Must Have:High School Diploma or GED required.Technical training in manufacturing, testing, machining, or related field preferred.1-3 years of experience in manufacturing, testing, quality inspection, valve assembly, or related industrial environment preferred.Experience with pressure testing equipment is preferred.Safety Responsibilities:Follow all company safety procedures and PPE requirements.Ensure testing activities are conducted safely and in accordance with approved procedures.Report unsafe conditions, equipment malfunctions, or incidents immediately.Maintain a clean and organized work area.Comply with all environmental and quality requirements.Physical Requirements:Frequently stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the workday.Ability to lift and move materials up to 25 lbs. with or without assistance.Ability to work around pressurized systems and manufacturing equipment.Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).Work Environment:Manufacturing and warehouse environment.Exposure to testing equipment, industrial machinery, water systems, and lifting devices.Moderate noise levels and varying temperatures typical of an industrial facility.Performance Expectations:Success in this role is measured by:Compliance with hydro test procedures and quality standards.Accuracy of testing documentation.Reduction of testing errors and rework.Safety performance and adherence to procedures.Productivity and on-time completion of testing activities.Support of continuous improvement initiatives
