Job Title: Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical/Telemetry Profession: RN Specialty: MedSurg/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 18 months of Med/Tele RN experience preferred. License: Current RN license required. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required. Must-Have: - General Med/Tele skillset, including stroke experience and cardiac rhythm interpretation. - Proficient in trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, and drain/tube management. - Experience with medication drip management, including cardiac drips, Heparin, blood products, and IV fluids. Description: We are seeking a Registered Nurse for a Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit. The position involves caring for various patient types, including those with end-stage renal disease, fluid overload, sickle cell disease, diabetes, altered mental status, cellulitis, diabetic ulcers, pancreatitis, and behavioral health issues. Patient ratios are 1:5-6, with a critical surge ratio of 1:7-8. Support within the department includes the presence of a CNA, receptionists, and a charge nurse, who may or may not have patient assignments. Phlebotomy and IV/VAT team support is available during specified hours. The nursing staff may be required to float to all units within the scope, based on regional needs. Traveling between facilities, if necessary mid-shift, will be compensated. Weekend rotation is required every other week, and travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays. Requests for time off may be approved, with certain limitations. Dress code consists of navy scrubs. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment.
