Our nonprofit client is looking for a Collections Specialist for a contract to hire opportunity to complete the following:

Reporting to the Manager, Finance Billing, the Staff, Finance Collections Specialist will support clients'financial sustainability by effectively managing accounts receivable and collections activities. This role upholds fiscal responsibility while maintaining a respectful, service-oriented approach. The Collections Specialist will work collaboratively to ensure timely revenue recovery while preserving positives relationships with clients, partners, and payers.

Duties And Responsibilities:

• Conduct outreach to customers via phone, email, or written correspondence regarding outstanding balances with professionalism and empathy.
• Support the collection of past-due accounts in a manner consistent with the organization's mission and values.
• Accurately document collection efforts, payment plans, and account updates to support transparency and reporting.
• Process payments and maintain accurate customer records in billing and accounting systems.
• Review account histories to identify discrepancies, trends, or billing concerns.
• Partner with internal teams to resolve billing questions and support fair, timely account resolution.
• Assist with accounts receivable processes and reporting to support organizational goals and outcomes.

Qualifications:

• Associate degree, preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience or familiarity with billing or ERP systems a plus
