We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager - Construction to support the delivery of capital improvement, renovation, and new construction projects for the New York State Office of General Services (OGS) in the Saranac Lake, NY region.In this role, you'll work alongside Project Managers and client stakeholders to oversee projects from planning through construction closeout. The position offers the opportunity to support a diverse portfolio of public-sector projects, including administrative facilities, healthcare environments, institutional campuses, infrastructure improvements, and critical state-owned assets throughout the North Country region.You'll be responsible for helping coordinate project activities, monitoring schedules and budgets, facilitating communication between design and construction teams, and supporting the successful execution of multiple projects simultaneously.Bring your curiosity, talent for multi-tasking, and passion for delivering quality projects, and we'll provide opportunities to grow your career with one of the industry's leading program management and construction management firms.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport Project Managers in administering multiple design and construction projects concurrentlyAssist with project planning, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and construction administration activitiesMonitor construction progress and coordinate with contractors, architects, engineers, and client representativesReview project schedules, meeting minutes, submittals, RFIs, and change ordersParticipate in project meetings and prepare status reports for client stakeholdersTrack project costs and assist with budget management and forecastingAssist in identifying and resolving project risks, issues, and conflictsConduct site visits to verify construction progress, safety compliance, and quality of workSupport project closeout activities, including punch list coordination and document turnoverMaintain project records and ensure compliance with OGS policies and procedures Here's what you'll need Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field5+ years of construction management, owner's representative, project engineering, or building construction experienceExperience supporting commercial, institutional, healthcare, educational, or public-sector construction projectsUnderstanding of construction processes, methods, means, materials, and project controlsAbility to review plans, specifications, schedules, and construction documentationStrong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and TeamsIdeally, You'll Also HaveExperience working on New York State public projectsKnowledge of NYS building codes and public procurement processesWorking knowledge of Primavera P6 or Microsoft ProjectOSHA 30-Hour CertificationExperience supporting projects in occupied facilitiesFamiliarity with document management systems and construction reporting software#EastPMCM #NorthPMCM #LI-SD2Our health and welfare benefits are designed to invest in you, and in the things you care about.
