Assistant Project Manager

Role Description The Assistant Project Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in New York, NY. This role supports project planning and execution by coordinating schedules, tracking progress, and assisting with documentation throughout the construction lifecycle. Day-to-day responsibilities include communicating with vendors, expeditors, inspectors, and logistics partners; helping prepare permit and inspection documentation; and ensuring that materials and services are delivered on time. The Assistant Project Manager will assist in managing project budgets, monitoring timelines, and flagging risks or delays to senior project leaders. This role also involves maintaining organized project records, supporting site meetings, and helping ensure compliance with local building codes and company standards.
Qualifications

Candidates should possess expeditor and expediting skills to support permitting, approvals, and inspection scheduling.
Candidates should possess project management skills to assist with planning, coordination, and tracking project milestones.
Candidates should possess inspection-related skills to help prepare for, coordinate, and document field inspections.
Candidates should possess logistics management skills to coordinate delivery of materials, manage vendors, and support site operations.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documentation and record-keeping.
Effective written and verbal communication skills for interacting with internal teams, clients, and external partners.
Ability to work on-site full time in New York, NY and collaborate in a fast-paced construction environment.
Basic proficiency with project management software and office productivity tools (e.g., spreadsheets, scheduling tools).
Relevant experience in construction, real estate development, or a similar field is beneficial.
An associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, business, or a related discipline is preferred.
