Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health evaluations, starting from initial consultations through to the end of treatment, ensuring comprehensive documentation of each step.

• Develop individualized treatment plans, incorporating evidence-based interventions tailored to the unique needs of clients, whether they are individuals, couples, families, or groups.

• Facilitate effective individual and group therapy sessions, employing various therapeutic modalities to promote engagement and healing.
\n
• Monitor client progress regularly, making necessary adjustments to treatment interventions based on their evolving needs.
\n
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including social workers, nurses, and psychiatrists, to create holistic and integrated intervention strategies.

• Follow up with medical professionals regarding clients who necessitate hospital admission, ensuring continuity of care throughout their treatment journey.
\n
• Proactively identify potential barriers to recovery and implement strategies to mitigate these challenges, guiding clients toward sustained mental health improvement.

• Support familial caregivers and significant others in understanding and managing client behavioral issues, helping to foster a supportive home environment.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on diverse client populations grappling with a wide range of mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, and relationship issues. As a mental health counselor, you will help clients navigate their challenges and work towards their goals, promoting resilience and emotional well-being.

Qualifications\n

• Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW in California.
\n
• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to effectively document and articulate treatment plans and progress notes.
\n
• A deep understanding of psychological theories and evidence-based practices relevant to psychotherapy.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience as a mental health counselor, preferably in a community health setting.

• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, to streamline clinical documentation processes.

• Experience addressing the interplay between mental health and physical health conditions, including addiction disorders.

• Knowledge of American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices.
\n
• Awareness of pharmacological treatments and their effects as prescribed by medical professionals.
