Senior Tax Accountant ( Public Accounting and Tax Experience Required ) (Hybrid)

We are a growing CPA firm seeking a highly experienced Tax Accountant with a strong background in U.S. and New York State tax compliance. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional who thrives in a fast-paced public accounting environment and has a sharp eye for detail and a commitment to delivering exceptional client service. Prepare and review individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns
- Review bookkeeping work prepared by junior staff and ensure accuracy in financial records
- Manage and review sales tax filings and payroll tax compliance for clients in multiple jurisdictions, with a focus on New York State
- Collaborate with team members to support year-round planning and client advisory services
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior accounting staff
- Communicate directly with clients to resolve tax and compliance issues
- Proven experience in reviewing bookkeeping, sales tax, and payroll tax filings
- Federal and New York State tax laws and regulations
- CPA license preferred (or in progress)
- Experience with tax software (e.g., ProSeries, Lacerte, or similar), QuickBooks, and Microsoft Excel
