Director, New Business Development (M&A)

Becton Dickinson seeks a Director of New Business Development (M&A) to identify and advance inorganic growth opportunities for its Peripheral Interventions business unit. This embedded role spans acquisitions, licensing deals, and strategic investments across vascular and oncology platforms, requiring end-to-end transaction evaluation, cross-functional collaboration, and executive-level communication to support complex deal execution and integration planning.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain active pipeline of acquisitions, licensing opportunities, and strategic investments
• Identify, prioritize, and evaluate external growth opportunities aligned with business strategy and portfolio objectives
• Lead end-to-end transaction evaluation including market assessment, thesis development, and financial modeling
• Conduct market, competitive, and technology landscape assessments to identify unmet needs and positioning
• Lead cross-functional diligence efforts and prepare executive-ready materials for senior leadership review

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Life Sciences, or related field
• Minimum 10 years professional experience in business development, strategy, marketing, finance, or product development
• Healthcare industry experience required; medical device experience strongly preferred
• Strong analytical capability including market modeling, financial analysis, and forecasting
• Proven ability to lead complex cross-functional initiatives and influence without direct authority
• Executive-level communication skills with ability to synthesize complex information clearly
• MBA or advanced degree preferred; 2-3 years management consulting experience preferred
