ASCP Registered Polysomnographic Technician - Night Shift

Join a dedicated team as a Registered Polysomnographic Technician specializing in nocturnal sleep studies and electrodiagnostic testing. This full-time night position involves performing polysomnography (NPSG), CPAP evaluations, scoring sleep studies, and conducting EEGs when necessary. You will be responsible for maintaining and cleaning equipment, completing documentation, and collaborating closely with physicians and clinical staff within the Neurodiagnostic Department.

Education and Certification

Applicants must hold the RPSGT credential (Registered Polysomnographic Technologist) and have at least one year of prior training and experience in sleep medicine.

Experience and Skills

A solid understanding of medical terminology and current EEG and sleep medicine procedures is essential. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations while interacting professionally with patients, colleagues, and visitors. Familiarity with Erickson's Developmental Model across all age groups-from infants to adults-is important for providing effective patient care and staff training.

Physical and Communication Requirements

The role requires manual dexterity to apply electrodes and operate diagnostic equipment and computers. Candidates must be able to stand or walk for extended periods, maneuver heavy equipment, and have good visual acuity. The position may involve exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials, so adherence to safety protocols is critical.
